Getting started
How does Coach build my workouts?
Coach uses the goal, experience level, training days, session duration, locations, available equipment, preferences, and limitations you provide during onboarding. Your workout logs, DEXA data, Oura recovery, and check-in responses add context over time so the plan keeps improving.
Can I change my onboarding answers later?
Yes. Go to the Profile tab in Coach to update your goal, experience, schedule, equipment, and any movements to avoid. Changes take effect the next time Coach plans a session.
What should I do if a movement hurts?
Stop the movement immediately. Add it to your limitations in Coach settings and choose a suitable alternative. Coach cannot diagnose pain or injury — seek a qualified health professional for medical guidance.
Can I train in different locations?
Yes. Save locations such as home, gym, park, or travel in Coach settings, along with the equipment available at each. Coach will adapt your session to wherever you are training today.
Workouts and plan
How do I move or reschedule a workout?
On the Plan tab, tap the workout day and select Move. You can drag it to another day in the week. Coach will preserve the structure of your training week as much as possible.
How do I log a completed workout?
Tap Start Workout on the Today tab. Log sets, reps, weight, and effort as you go. Tap Finish when done — Coach saves your session and uses it to inform your next one.
Can I add or remove exercises from a workout?
Yes. Open a workout session and use the Edit button to add, reorder, or remove exercises. You can also ask the AI Coach to modify your workout for you.
How do I log a rest day or skip a session?
Tap the day on the Plan tab and select Cancel Workout. Coach will note the skip and account for it when planning ahead.
Can I import my old workout history?
Yes. Coach supports structured CSV and TSV workout-history imports. Go to Settings → Import to upload a file. Review the import preview before confirming so dates and fields map correctly.
Data, HealthKit, and iCloud sync
What does HealthKit access do?
When you grant permission, Coach can read data like active energy, heart rate, and body measurements from Apple Health, and write completed workouts back to it. You can change permissions at any time in iPhone Settings → Health → Apps → Coach.
Why is my data different on another device?
Confirm both devices use the same Apple ID, that iCloud Drive is enabled, and that Coach has iCloud access in iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud. Sync may take a few minutes after a large import or on a new device.
How do I export or delete my data?
Go to Coach Settings → Data. From there you can export your workout history or permanently delete all Coach data from iCloud. Deleting the app removes local data; use the in-app delete option to also clear iCloud data.
Are my progress photos backed up?
Progress photos are stored on your device and sync to your private iCloud database when iCloud is enabled. They are never uploaded to Coach or Brandissimo servers. If you delete the app without first backing up, locally-stored photos may be lost.
Integrations — Oura and DEXA
How do I connect my Oura Ring?
Go to Coach Settings → Integrations → Oura Ring and follow the sign-in flow. Once connected, Coach reads your sleep score, readiness, and activity data to help tailor your training plan. You can disconnect at any time from the same screen.
What Oura data does Coach use?
Coach reads your sleep score, readiness score, and activity data from the Oura API. This data is used only to inform your training recommendations and is not shared with third parties beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
How do I log a DEXA scan?
Go to the Progress tab and tap Add DEXA Scan. Enter your body fat percentage, lean mass, total weight, and the scan date. Coach uses this data to give context to your training progress over time.
Can Coach read my DEXA data automatically?
Not yet — DEXA results must be entered manually. We're exploring integrations with DEXA scan providers for a future update.
AI Coach
What can I ask the AI Coach?
You can ask Coach to modify today's workout, lighten or intensify a session, explain an exercise, adjust your weekly plan, or give advice based on how you're feeling. Coach has context about your profile, current plan, and recent training history.
Can the AI Coach change my workout plan?
Yes. Ask Coach to update today's workout, swap exercises, or replan your week. Coach will make the changes directly in your plan — you'll see them reflected immediately on the Today and Plan tabs.
Why did the AI Coach give me a generic answer?
Coach works best with specific questions. Instead of "give me a workout," try "I only have 30 minutes and a set of dumbbells today — can you shorten my session?" The more context you provide, the better the response.
How do I start a new AI Coach conversation?
Tap "New Chat" in the top-right corner of the Coach tab. This clears the current conversation history so you can start fresh.
Is the AI Coach's advice medically accurate?
AI Coach responses are generated by Anthropic's Claude AI and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are not medical advice. Do not rely on Coach for diagnosis, treatment, injury rehabilitation, or emergency guidance. Always consult a qualified professional for medical concerns.
